“Owns the Westin Hotel in Bangladesh”
In June 2010, BEXIMCO made a strategic investment in Unique Hotels & Resorts (Unique) and acquired a 5% stake in the company. Unique has awarded a management contract to Starwood Hotels & Resorts to manage the property under the Westin brand. The funds are being used to increase the hotel’s capacity from 241 to 441 rooms and to build a banquet hall with a seating capacity of 2,000. Unique also has an upcoming hotel project with 284 rooms and a banquet hall with a seating capacity of 2,000. Unique has awarded a management contract to Starwood Hotels and Resorts to manage the upcoming property under the St. Regis brand.
